Diana’s Painting OBX knows a lot about paint and painting with darker colors can be difficult:

• First of all, don’t think we are going to do one-coat coverage since darker paints require more pigment. The paint won’t be able to cover as well as white, which has little pigment, if any, in it.
• Second, dont think we are going to buy cheap, because we don’t give you cheap quality…
  For deeper colors, don’t cut corners on the paint quality. The best materials in the paint provide better coverage and color retention.
• Third, we spend some time with the paint in the can before painting….
  We shake the can for a few minutes. After we open the can, we stir the paint for several more minutes from the bottom up as the pigment can settle to the bottom in a short time.
• Finally, we don’t just get the first coat on the wall, we also make sure that we let it dry completely, and then we apply the second coat. If we paint again too soon, then we ensure that the paint isn’t layering, so we have to give it some time between coats.
